December Ipsy Bag: Snow Globe

I hope everyone that celebrates had a happy Christmas yesterday, and for everyone else, I hope you had a great Monday! I want to continue the holiday cheer with an ipsy Glam Bag review. To be honest, December wasn’t the greatest month, but there were some hits in this holiday themed bag. Let’s get started!

1. Smashbox Always on Gel Eyeliner in Fishnet

I am a girl who loves a good eyeliner (I went through the whole racoon-eyes stage during middle school and never really lived it down). Unfortunately, I’m not obsessed with the Smashbox Always on Gel Eyeliner. While it looks pigmented in my swatch, it takes a lot to make it that dark and it doesn’t stay on my tightline the way my Urban Decay eyeliner or Maybelline one does. It’s not the worst gel eyeliner, but it’s got some competition.

2. Rodial Glamolash Mascara XXL in Black

I’m okay with leaving the house without makeup, but if I’ve got a few seconds to spare, I always swipe on a coat of mascara. This Rodial Glamolash Mascara XXL gives the perfect lift and curl to my lashes to top off any look.

3. Purlisse Beauty Sheets Masks (Coconut + Rice Nourishing Sheet Mask & Green Tea + Ginger Treatment Sheet Mask)

Confession time — I hadn’t tried a sheet mask until September of this year when I visited a friend at my old university and we had a night in pampering ourselves. Surpirse! I love them. They are so easy and honestly leave my skin feeling so refreshed. I’ve actually used both of these sheet masks already and absolutely loved them. Sheet masks are also a lot easier to do than mud masks because you simply unfold the mask and stick it to your face and you’re good to watch a Youtube video or too. Perfect to refresh your skin after the holidays.

4. Pixi by Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in Orchid Ornament

At first, I thought I was going to love this eyeshadow duo, but unfortunately, it was a flop for me. The darker color has some shimmer in it, and I tried using it to deepen the outer corner of my eyeshadow look one day, which initially looked great. Then, I swiped the lighter shimmer over the entirety of my lid, and it truly looked like I had never done my makeup before. It didn’t add anything to look, and it also wore terribly throughout the day. By 10 a.m. my lids looked like an oily mess. I might try this again in a different way, but so far, not a huge fan.

5. Ofra Liquid Lipstick in ispy Unzipped

I was so excited when I saw this was in my bag. I’ve been wanting to try out Ofra Cosmetics makeup, and this was the perfect jump start.  The shade is great for everyday use, and the liquid lip feels comfortable while also drying down matte. It also passes the Kimberly test by staying in place all day without having to touch it up. Bonus: It’s an exclusive shade made just for ipsy bag subscribers!

Overall, this bag was pretty pleasing with three hits and two misses. Can’t wait to see what I get in the New Year!

Happy glamming,
Kimberly
