Holiday Gift Guide: 10 Last Minute Gift Ideas

Christmas is right around the corner, and I don’t know about you, but I am so excited! I absolutely love getting gifts for people — it’s my favorite part of the holiday — and when I know I’ve got an amazing gift, I can’t wait for my loved ones to unwrap it. Even though I nail some gifts on the first try, I still struggle with finding something just right for other people.

Here is a fool-proof, last minute gift guide that can work for anyone in your life, for any holiday!

1. Create a personalized print.
Everyone always loves a homemade gift, right? I graduated from hand-painting canvases (because let’s be honest, I am no Monet), to creating digital prints and framing them for people for holiday and birthday gifts. Basically, I find a quote that perfectly encapsulates who they are to me or what I think they would like to see every day, and then I design a custom print for them. It’s fast, cheap, and super personal! I order my prints from Snapfish and find frames at TJMaxx to save money.

2. Print a photo, and write a letter.
This is so personalized and perfect if you’ve got friends in far places. Pick a photo that perfectly encapsulates your friendship or reminds you of your favorite memory together. Then, write them a little letter talking about how much you love them and how you can’t wait to see them soon. If you want to take it a step further, you could frame the photo and ship them a package with some of their favorite goodies. Signed. Sealed. Delivered.

3. Inscribe a book.
Books are always wonderful gifts, and leaving a personalized note inside the front cover takes it one step further.

4. Provide them with an experience.
Sometimes people just don’t need anything for Christmas. For those people, I love giving them experiences — concert tickets, taking them out to brunch, or setting aside a day just for us to spend time together. I find this kind of present to be perfect for grandparents, and I know I appreciate the time spent with loved ones as much as they do (or I hope they do).

5. Fill a mug with their favorite warm beverage.
Create a winter survival kit for your favorite coffee addict with a mug and coffee combo. Pick out an adorable mug, stuff it with ground coffee or K-cups, and there you have it! Coffee can also be replaced with hot cocoa or tea! You can take it a step farther by creating your own mug or decorating it like a snowman!

6. Keep it simple with a gift card.
Before you click the little “X” in the corner, hear me out! If you’ve got a recent grad in your life, gift cards are definitely the way to go. Hopefully, they are making their own money now, so they probably don’t need anything, but would love some structure to the random money thrown their way. Go a step further and get gift cards for places to eat or grocery stores. We don’t mind spending our hard earned cash on stuff we want, but buying groceries every month is no fun.

7. A free month to a subscription service.
Subscription services are definitely all the rage. From make-up, to food, to dog gifts, there’s a subscription service for your special someone. Gift them the first month free, and they’ll thank you for their treats later. You can up this to three — five months depending on how much you want to spend on them, too.

8. Keep their toes warm.
Honestly, there’s nothing I like unwrapping more on Christmas than a pair of cute socks. Fuzzy socks, socks with animals on them, high cut, low cut, you name a pair of socks and I probably want them from Christmas (especially if they are from Target). Keep the warm trend going by adding in a scarf, gloves, and a hat if you feel like it!

9. Bake them something sweet.
I love giving baked goodies out as Christmas presents because not only are they yummy, but it shows someone you took time out of your day to create something for them. If you’re going to give baked goods for Christmas, I highly highly recommend home making them —  store bought won’t have the same, thoughtful effect.

10. Create a self-care package.
Self care is so so important these days when we are pulled in 100 different directions. Get your special someone a little kit for self-care. Stock it with a  candle, a journal, and maybe the persons favorite book or movie and a snack for a quite night in.

So, there you have it. Ten gift you can personalize for anyone in your life! Make any gift as cheap or expensive as you want, customize them, combine them, make every gift personal to you and your loved ones.

Happy Holidays,
Kimberly
