May Goals & An April Update | 2021

Happy May! April was a crazy month and May is looking to be no different, but I’m ready to crush these goals. I actually crossed a lot of big goals off my list last month, and I’m hoping to do the same in May. Let’s get started!

April 2021 Goals

one | take two Julie Solomon courses
Done and done! I learned about growing my Instagram following as well as finding my niche. I loved learning from Julie, and I’m planning to finish the last two courses in May.

two | read six books
I read Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid, The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert, and Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. I also finished Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick and Stamped by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi. WOO! I didn’t finish Crucial Conversations by Joseph Grenny, Kerry Patterson, Ron McMillan, and Al Switzler in time for May, but I did finish it!

three | workout five times a week every week
Unfortunately, working out did not make it into my daily schedule this month. Between non-profit commitments, traveling, and work priorities working out fell off. I really want to get back to my morning routine in May.

four | draft a communication’s plan for a non-profit I work with
Another goal that fell off due to other commitments. I’ll hopefully be able to work on this in May to get it to them by the end of their fiscal year.

May 2021 Goals

one | take a day, and do nothing
I know this sounds like a non-goal, but I have been go go go, and I will be go go go until about the middle of the month. I want to make sure to take a day and do what I want to do – curl up with a book, watch Netflix all day, sit in the park. Whatever it is, I want to take a day and do something for me.

two | buy fresh flowers for my apartment
There is an adorable floral shop in Nashville that I’ve been meaning to stop in at for three years. I think this month’s the time to do it! There’s nothing better than fresh flowers in springtime.

three | read six books
I just got four books from the library, and I’m determined to finish them before their due date. Legendborn, From Blood and Ash, Untamed, and The Vanishing Half are all on the TBR list this month. And, I actually finished two books in the first four days of May (what), so with my library books read, I’ve hit my goal!

four | get back to reading the Bible
I started reading the Bible months ago when I embarked on my religious journey, but there’s only so much time in the day, and this has definitely fallen to the wayside. I would love to get back to making this a part of my morning routine.

Happy adventuring,
Kimberly
