The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo

Now I see why everyone raves about this book. Larsson did a phenomenal job of combining various plot lines and sub-stories into one novel that intertwined in the end.

I really enjoyed how every occurrence in the book connected in some way to the larger plot line, and I thought he did an amazing job of dividing the book to maintain order.

“The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” isn’t really about a girl with a dragon tattoo in my mind — she’s just a really important character that furthers the story. It’s really about an investigative journalist who hits some rough water with a story and is almost forced to isolate himself on an island in Sweden with an entire family that he is investigating. A young member of the family was murdered over 30 years ago, or so it seems, and the head of the family wants Blomkvist (the investigative journalist) to figure out the mystery of the murder.

There’s actions, suspense, dark problems and more wrapped between the covers of this book.

I’m not sure yet if I will read the others in the series, but I can tell you this: Larsson’s writing in inspirational and compelling. He writes simply yet packs a punch with almost every sentence. Readers can tell that everything he writes has meaning and purpose.

I hope everyone can enjoy this suspenseful, powerful read.

Happy reading,
Kimberly
