2019 Goals: An Update

I can’t believe I’m saying it, but we are officially halfway through 2019. It feels like yesterday I was sharing my goals for the year, and now it’s time for a little update.

Overall, 2019 has been going pretty well. There’ve been more than a few bumps in the road, but I can’t really complain. I’ve gotten more enmeshed in Nashville life than ever before, I’ve made really great friendships in the last few months, and I’ve got more exciting changes coming in the second half of the year.

Something that really helps me stick to my goals and keep them top of mind is bullet journaling. I create a spread every month that lists of my goals, and then I track those with my habit tracker. I don’t always knock it out of the park, but I try, and that’s what really matters, right?

Let’s get started with my 2019 goals update.

2019 GOALS AN UPDATE

Fitness
I’m not going to lie, it’s been really hard to keep up a fitness streak. I bought BBG at the beginning of the year, and I’ve been doing a pretty good job of staying on track, but I’ve lacked in pretty much every other goal. I haven’t been doing yoga as much and the same can be said for running, but I’m moving into a new apartment next week, which comes with a gym! I’m a weird anomaly, and I’ve always preferred running on a treadmill, so I’m hoping that having a gym 50 feet from my door helps kick my butt into high gear.

Career
I feel like I’ve completely dropped the ball on this one. I’ve gotten much more involved in organizations outside of work that can help me with my marketing and public relations skills, but I haven’t done a lick of reading when it comes to healthcare and business. While I haven’t read any books about the topics, I have listened to a few podcasts and watched a handful of documentaries. I’m reminding myself that life is a marathon and not a sprint with this one — I’ve still got a few months to brush up on my skills, and I’m going to use the last half of 2019 to do that.

Lifestyle
I don’t mean to brag, but I think this is where I’m really excelling in achieving my goals. I’ve been doing a way better job of reading (and reading books I’m actually interested in reading), I’ve gone 95 percent cruelty-free with my beauty products, I’ve cleaned out my closet at least three times and donated/sold anything that didn’t bring me joy, and I eat a mostly plant-based diet aside from the occasional hot dog. I feel like I’m thriving when it comes to investing in myself, and that’s really all I can ask for at this point. I said I was working on loving myself and being my best self this year, and if that’s all I get out of 2019, it will be enough.

Happy adventuring,
Kimberly
