April Goals & A March Update | 2021

Happy April! It feels like we were just celebrating New Years 2021, and now, it’s already the start to the second quarter. Wow! My first quarter of 2021 was pretty great — I didn’t accomplish everything on my to-do list, but I made a good dent. I’m on track with my reading goals, and I knocked some big tasks off the list.

First Quarter Wins: I gave up sugar for 40 days (with one “cheat day”) – something I never thought I would be able to do. I led a non-profit through a crisis with a solid communications strategy. I’ve read 20 books already this year!

March 2021 Goals Update

one | develop a newsletter & crochet four times in the month
I’ve developed a design template for my newsletter, and plan to start sending content the first of May!

Crocheting is becoming a lot harder to put into the schedule than I thought it would be. Because I spend a majority of the weekend at my boyfriend’s place, learning how to crochet (watching video tutorials) is a lot harder than I planned. Hopefully, I can get into this in April!

two | read six books
I finished both How to be an Antiracist and A Conjuring of Light in addition to five other books. Seven books read in March, and a goal reached! Dang, it feels good.

three | renew my Google Analytics certification
Whoops! This totally fell off my radar! Adding it to the to-do list ASAP.

four | figure out my niche
Done and done. I spent some time researching trends, filters, and my passions over the last month, and I am back to posting regularly (almost every day) on Instagram. Follow me @aspoonfulofhoni.

April 2021 Goals

one | take two Julie Solomon courses
I purchased six social media and marketing courses from Julie Solomon, a marketing and social media guru, back in November 2020. I’ve taken one course so far, and plan on taking two this month to catch up on my quarterly goals.

two | read six books
It’s always a goal to read six books a month to hit my yearly goal of reading 75 books (I’ve never done that before). This month, I’m planning to read/finish Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid, The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert, Crucial Conversations by Joseph Grenny, Kerry Patterson, Ron McMillan, and Al Switzler, and Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo. I’ll let two books be some freebie/mood reading selections.

three | workout five times a week every week
My boyfriend and I kicked off what we have dubbed “Self Improvement Spring” a few weekends ago, but we have been go-go-go since then, so I haven’t had a chance to get into a solid routine yet. I’m planning to do strength training three days a week and do cardio with him on the weekends.

four | draft a communication’s plan for a non-profit I work with
I accomplished a lot of my first quarter goals, but one thing I still need to scratch off the list is updating a communications plan for a local theatre work with. I love serving on the board, and one of my favorite things about it is is being able to provide them with critical feedback and direction. That’s what I’ll be doing with this plan, so I’d like to jump on it in April.

Happy adventuring,
Kimberly
