Catching My Eye | 04.09.21

TGIF. After two weeks of working three-day weeks, a full week of work almost did me in. While I’m excited to see life picking back up as flowers blossom, I’m also a little sad to see the quiet days of winter slip away (Only me?). This week was packed with meetings and just a little bit of stress related to some upcoming projects, but I’m excited for it all!

this week’s good things: I finished two amazing books, I got a new awesome black, studded cup to drink water from, and I got to spend time with friends one-on-one.

Let’s get into what’s been catching my eye this week!

one | book list
Spring is my favorite season, so you can bet your butt I’m excited to post up at a park this year and really all the amazing books coming out. I love this list of highly anticipated spring releases from The Everygirl.

two | work tips
We all want to get the most out of our days, but that doesn’t always mean we should be multitasking. Studies have found that multitasking isn’t actually as beneficial as one might think.

three | fashion find
I’ve got more than a few semi-formal occasions coming up this spring/summer, so I decided to “splurge” on a new dress I’ve had my eye on. I love Lulu’s for dresses for specific purposes, and I’ve fallen in love with this drapey, navy and floral dress on more than one shopping sessions, and I finally bought the bullet. I hope I love it.

four | mental health
Sleep is one of the most important things to me. You have no idea how much I wish I didn’t need to sleep 8 hours a night, but it’s crucial to my ability to act like a functioning adult. I love my bedroom routine, and I love these tips to develop your own.

five | currently reading
I got an ARC (advanced reader copy) of Taylor Jenkins Reid’s newest book, Malibu Rising, and I finished it so quickly this week. Follow the Riva family during the night of their lives. Told between alternating timelines leading up to where the Riva’s are now, this book has already stolen my heart. The Riva’s throw a blow-out party every summer, and it’s always sure to be a good time. What started as a few chip bowls and a view of the ocean has turned into the “it” party of the year that celebrities high and low should be at. But by 8 a.m. the next day, the place is up in smokes. Find out why and so much more.

Happy adventuring,
Kimberly
