It’s a long weekend! Who has fun plans? I’m heading down to the beach with a group of friends, and I could not be more excited for a chill, fun weekend. Believe it or not, I don’t think I’ve taken a beach weekend since college. Since I’m from Florida and only grew up about 20 minutes from the beach, it’s never something I crave since I can go anytime I’m home (yes, even over Christmas), but I’m still really looking forward to this weekend. I haven’t gotten away from Nashville since February, so it’s a well overdue trip.

This week was actually insane. I met with a few people about a possible opportunity to get further involved in the Nashville community on Monday, and then I scurried off to the Backstreet Boys concert with some friends. I had to take Maggie to the vet on Tuesday for some tummy issues, and I had a meeting on Wednesday. Then, I celebrated a friend’s birthday on Thursday at an outdoor concert. Whew! I’m definitely excited to get to relax a little bit more this weekend. Let’s get into what’s been catching my eye this week!

1. This article about what realistic HGTV shows should look like
I absolutely loved this article about what an HGTV show should look like nowadays. It’s completely unrealistic for most millennials to spend a million dollars on a home and way more likely for them to be looking for an affordable three-bedroom in a safe neighborhood. I also love the ideas presented about DIY projects or maximizing your space.

2. This magical musical album
I can’t stop listening to Lover. I’ve been following Taylor since the beginning, and this is quickly becoming one of my favorite albums. My top three songs are probably I Forgot that You Existed, Paper Rings, and I Think He Knows.

3. This video on how to fold a fitted sheet
Does anyone actually know how to fold a fitted sheet? This video got me like 75 percent of the way there, but there’s still plenty of room for improvement.

4. This perspective on prioritizing
I touched on this a little bit in my post on Monday, but prioritizing is so important. It’s probably the most important thing to do, but also the hardest. “The key to success is focusing on doing three things really well each day,” says Randi Zuckerberg.

5. This young adult series my friend has been recommending for forever…
I am finally starting the Throne of Glass series this weekend, and I am so excited. My roommate has been telling me about this series for forever, so it’s about time I pick it up. Throne of Glass is about Celaena, an 18-year-old assassin who has just served out her year of hard labor. She is enlisted to participate in a competition to become Prince Dorian’s royal assassin. If she succeeds, she will serve the crown for four years, and then be free. Before she can win her eventual freedom, someone starts killing the other competitors, and Celaena must find out who is doing the killing before she becomes a victim herself.

Happy adventuring,
Kimberly

THANK YOU. I can finally get that dratted, dreaded, bottom sheet folded neatly in the linen closet with the top sheets. This has been making me crazy (crazier) for years.
