Fall Bucket List

I’ve decided that if I talk about fall enough, I can will it into existence. It’s still unbelievably hot here in Nashville, and while I’m not entirely ready for summer to be over (I’m from Florida, sue me), I am ready to be able to throw on sweaters and jeans when I leave the house. To get me (and everyone else) in the mood for the new season, I figured I would share a little fall bucket list. Let’s get started!

fall bucket list

1. Drink apple cider.
I’ve never been a hot drink person, but I love apple cider. There’s something about sitting in a cafe with a scarf wrapped around my neck, book in hand, and a steaming cup of apple cider beside me. I might be a on a mission this fall to find the best apple cider in the city. I’ll keep you posted.

2. Take a walk through the fallen leaves.
As a Florida gal, I still get extremely excited about leaves changing color and falling off trees. I also get childishly giddy about being able to kick through a pile of huge leaves. It’s all about the little things, right?

3. Carve a pumpkin.
What’s more fall than carving a pumpkin? Absolutely nothing. I haven’t carved a pumpkin since my first year in Nashville, and I’m excited to pick one out this year at one of our pumpkin patches and make it a little piece of art.

4. Go on a hayride.
I don’t think I’ve ever gone on a proper hayride, and I think it’s something someone should experience at least once in their life. I know I can convince my brother’s girlfriend to come with me, so I can’t wait for some more family fun!

5. Bake a pie.
I absolutely love baking, and I dipped my toes in the water last year with a pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving and a cinnamon-roll apple pie for Christmas. I’m thinking of doing a more traditional apple pie this year or maybe something really different like a peach or chocolate pie.

6. Read my fall TBR list.
It’s finally reading season again! When the sun sets earlier and the days get colder, there’s no better way to spend your time than in bed or on the couch with a book. I’ll be sharing my fall TBR list next week, so make sure to check back for it, but I can guarantee some spooky reads for the season.

7. Watch all the Halloweentown movies.
Believe it or not, I’ve never seen all the Halloweentown movies. I think I’ve seen part of the first one and the last one, but never all of them. I was really scared of them as a kid, but I think I’m finally ready to take on the movies from my childhood.

8. Tour a brewery.
I live in Nashville, surrounded by breweries, and I’ve never toured one. It’s time to change that this fall.

9. Take a trip to the mountains.
I haven’t been to the mountains in years, and I live so close now I feel like it’s a missed opportunity. I’d love to take a long weekend, rent a little cabin with a few friends, and take a few day hikes while the weather is perfect.

10. Enjoy the perfect weather.
We only get a few perfect fall days here in Nashville, so I’m determined to enjoy the truly beautiful days when we have them — take more walks, read outside, and soak it all in.

What are you excited to accomplish this fall? Let me know in the comments below.

Happy reading,
Kimberly
