Everyone wish Maggie a happy birthday! I understand it’s incredibly extra of me to through my cat a birthday party (my roommate and I got fancy cake — it wasn’t really a party), but we all need something to look forward to during this ongoing pandemic, right? Aside from Maggie’s birthday, this week was very, very quiet. Client work has slowed down a ton, and I’ve settled into a good rhythm of dinner and TV/reading at night. I also gave my body a much-needed break and worked out less this week subbing in my normal HIIT workouts for more leisurely walks. All in all, it was a much needed “quiet”…

Happy Friday! I know lots of people who make jokes about the weekend being just the same as the rest of the week, but I still look forward to those two little days of zero expectations every week. This week was quite the rollercoaster between work and personal stuff, so I’m hoping to get some much-needed downtime and practice a little self-care this weekend. What’s on your agenda? Let’s see what’s been catching my eye… 1// This list of books about voter-suppression… Early voting ends tomorrow in Nashville. I am lucky enough to have not experienced any issues during my time as a voting adult in the United States, but…

Who’s ready for weekend? I know I am. This week has been insane, and I’m ready for a quiet few days before heading to the beach (safely) with my mom next weekend. I’m excited for some downtime. I know we have all been looking at these last few months as downtime, but even while working from home, I’ve been busier than ever. Let’s get into what’s been catching my eye this week! My roommate drew me! How amazing is she? Check out her other work on Instagram @sarahstonecreative. 1// These helpful tips for keeping your cool during tough times… If you haven’t had at least one freak-out during the last…

Can I be honest with you guys? I am not doing so hot. Between Black Lives Matter, COVID-19, and every other tragedy going on in the world that we don’t even know about, I feel like I’ve woken up to a lot this week. Don’t get me wrong — this is a very good thing — but it also leaves me feeling very overwhelmed because how am I supposed to help everyone? The answer is, I can’t. Duh. But, I can keep focusing on educating myself and others. And donating when I can. I’ve also learned, that you have to pick your causes. I think I’m going to spend the…

What a week. I don’t know about you, but I’m exhausted. From listening and learning about the Black Lives Matter movement impacting the nation (world) to trying to survive during a pandemic, I am beat. I don’t know if I have anything poignant to share this week as I am truly just trying to keep my head above water at this point. I hope this is a pivotal moment in history. I hope this is a year we look back on and say, “That’s when everything changed.” Until then, I promise to put in the work. I promise to keep fighting the good fight even when I’m tired. I promise…

Another week, come and gone. This week felt like it flew by. I started watching Hannah Montana while I worked, and before you laugh at me, it has been the perfect companion. It’s pure background noise, and it makes the day go by so much faster since it’s essentially broken up into 30-minute chunks. I also realized how important working out is to my mental health. I usually start my day with a workout because if I put it off until the afternoon there is a 1% chance I actually commit to doing it. I think rest days are super important, but I can’t lie. I felt really off Thursday morning (the…

What a week! One of my clients had their second busiest week ever, and boy, am I ready for the weekend. I know they are kind of the same as before quarantine, but I still look forward to the unstructured time. I plan to get in lots of reading time this weekend (like every other weekend of quarantine, ha). Something I’ve been thinking a lot about this week as we slowly come out of quarantine here in Nashville is time-management. I feel like these last two-ish months were a great time to take stock of what has and hasn’t been worth my time — what do I do that makes me…

It’s the eighth Friday since I started working from home, and I’m still excited about Fridays. I know a lot of people feel like weekends aren’t any different for them now, but they are still magical to me. I’ve been keeping a pretty strict work-from-home schedule since quarantine started, but I actually relax on the weekends. I’ve gotten so much reading done during this time it’s insane. 12 books in 8 weeks. HOW? I know quarantine has been really hard on some people, and I’ve definitely had my moments, but for the most part, I’ve been fine. At first, I thought something was wrong with me. But then I started seeing more…

Hi there! Happy 2020! I know I’ve been gone for a while, but I’m back. For now. I’m not sure how long I’ll be back, but I know I’m at my best when I’m writing regularly, and blogging is a great way to hold myself accountable, so for now, I’m back. The last few months of 2019 were a great treat. I turned 25 at the end of November, celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family in Nashville, and reigned in the new year with some of my favorite people by my side. I’m excited to see what 2020 brings! I know some people hate new year’s resolutions, but I think the…

And just like that, another week has come and gone! Except this week was super special for me because it marked my last week at my job. I’d been at my job for just over a year, and it was a truly wonderful experience that taught me so much. I’m leaving to be an account executive at a start-up public relations firm in Nashville, and nothing could make me happier. When I looked into moving to Nashville about three years ago, it was because I wanted to work at a PR firm in the city. And to finally be able to tell people that I am doing that, well, it’s…
