Another week in the books! This week was especially fantastic because I got a cat! I’ve been talking about getting a cat for so long that some of my good friends already thought I had a cat. I brought home the precious nugget below on Saturday, and she’s just the cutest little cuddle bug already. I love being a cat mom, and I’m so glad I have her in my life even if she tries to sleep on my face. Her name is Maggie courtesy of my roommate (who I’m slowly turning into a cat person). Other than having a snuggle butt sharing my bed now, I caught up with some friends…

    Summer Favorites 2019

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think summer might be almost over. It stays hot in Nashville until mid-late October, but I’m already craving leggings and oversized sweaters. That being said, I’ve really fallen into love with a few things over the past couple of months, so I thought I would share my thoughts on my summer favorites. Let’s get started! 1. Winnie-the-Pooh Mug I have been absolutely loving this mug. My brother and his girlfriend brought it back for me from their trip to Disney a few months ago, and it’s quickly become my favorite mug in my ever-growing collection. I use it every night when I…

I don’t know about you, but I’m excited to sleep this weekend! This week ended up being surprising busy, and I didn’t get nearly enough shut-eye — even with skipping a few workouts. The most exciting part of my week was probably mounting my TV. My friend came over to do it for me — my handy skills do not include the use of power tools — and we had all sorts of problems finding the studs and situating the TV at the right height. All in all, it took about four hours with a little dinner break, but now my TV is nice and sturdy (cross my fingers) on…

    Summer 2019 Playlist

It’s that time of the season! I’ve got a 2019 summer playlist all cued up for you. These playlists include music I’ve been listening to regularly, concerts I’ve gone to, or specific songs that remind me of specific moments. It’s super personal to me, but everyone can enjoy it. Some of my favorite songs on this playlist are War Paint by Fletcher, Love Somebody by Taylor Henderson, and Never Really Over by Katy Perry.   Happy listening, Kimberly

Lately, I’ve been feeling like every week is the same. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday drag by with me checking the hour every hour, and then Thursday and Friday are gone in the blink of an eye. I’ve been really busy lately with moving, but things are slowly coming together. I got my bedspread last night, and despite finding two spiders crawling around in it (EW!), I absolutely love it. This weekend, I’m tackling more organization and decoration in my room and throughout the apartment. If you’ve got any tips, please send them my way! But for now, let’s get into what’s been catching my eye… 1. This insight into Alexandria…

10 Reading Habits You Shouldn’t Be Ashamed Of

I believe everyone appreciates books in a different way. I also believe we can all enjoy books in a variety of ways, and that’s okay. There is no one right way to read a book. There is no one right type of book to read. And there is no one in this world that should make you feel guilty about what or how you like to read. Let’s get started with the 10 reading habits you shouldn’t be ashamed of. 1. Reading more than one book at a time. I used to have a friend that would shame me for reading more than one book at a time. It’s something…

Top 5 Newsletters To Get In Your Inbox

There’s nothing I love more than reading a good article, and then, sharing it. I probably read more articles online than the average person, but it’s how I take mental breaks rather than surfing social media. I’m not fantastic at finding articles on my own unless they are from my favorite bloggers and websites. Instead of scouring the Internet for hours finding the perfect think-piece, I rely on a few newsletters to enlighten me. Here are my top 5 newsletters to get in your inbox today. Let’s get started! 1. 5 Smart Reads This is one of my favorite additions to my inbox by far. Hitha Palepu is mostly known for her book How…

I moved! Yesterday was exhausting, I’m still unpacking, and my life is in absolute shambles, but I moved, and I am so excited! I had been living in the same place since I moved to Nashville, and it was a great place, but I’m excited about this new adventure! I’m living with one of my littles from my sorority, and we are both so thrilled to be living together after talking about it for so long. Other than moving, nothing is really on my brain. I’m looking forward to throwing out things that don’t bring me joy (I know I should have done this before I moved, but we all…

    The Good in Goodbye…

Before you start panicking, I’m not saying goodbye to blogging! I’m moving this week from the first and only home I’ve had in Nashville, and it’s got me thinking a lot about goodbyes. I’ve never been a fan of goodbyes, and unfortunately, I’ve had to say a lot of them in 2019. Some of them were harder than others, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say all of them were hard and still affecting me in some way or another today. The grief of a goodbye hits us at odd times — when we least expect it and definitely feel like we should be over it — but grief…

I’m not going to lie to all of you — I’ve been really tired lately. I’m not sure if it’s because of everything going on (big events, moving, etc), but I just want to curl up under my comfort and sink into a world of dreams for the rest of the weekend. Despite being the most tired I have been in a long time, this week was still a crazy one. I met up with a new friend on Monday, tackled a bunch of new leadership tasks on Tuesday and Wednesday, got BBQ with my brother and Tori on Thursday, and I’m heading to the Bad on Paper live show…
