Can someone please make time stop? When did it become the last week of May? Despite time moving way too fast for me, this week was such a fun one. I had a really great weekend spending time with my favorite cat, getting a little sun by the pool, and enjoying some new experiences around Nashville including eating a hot dog I had looked forward to for two hours and watching a really great soccer match. Someone was asking me last night why I love Nashville so much, and I think it’s because there’s always something new to do or somewhere new to explore. It’s only been a year and…
The Truth About Graduating…
Two years in the real world down; a lifetime to go! This past Monday marked two years since I graduated from my dream school. It marked two years since saying goodbye to the safety and schedule of the educational system I’d been in since I was three years old. Two years since saying goodbye to mentors and friends that shaped me in inexplicable ways. On Friday, a whole new crop of seniors are graduating from my favorite place in the world, and I want to send some advice (albeit, unsolicited) their way. Let’s get started. Graduating is hard. Now, it will not be the hardest thing you do in your…
Top 5 Podcasts to Listen To
Podcasts have been having their moment in the sun for a few years now, but I’m still just as obsessed with them as I was a few years ago. I love having noise around me at all times (Silence can be scary, okay?), so whether I’m doing my makeup or cleaning my bathroom, I like to have a podcast playing. I have different podcasts for different occasions — news is strictly for my morning routine, murder podcasts are on full blast when I’m working out, and brain food podcasts are for when I’m doing work that doesn’t require a lot of attention. I listen to a wide range of radio…

Yesterday was really tough. I try to stay positive here on the blog, and I try to always see the silver lining in life, but yesterday was a really rough day. I don’t want to get political on here, but I feel like I have an obligation to say something. I don’t have the biggest following out here on the interwebs, but if I can help one person, that’s so important. So, I want to give everyone reading this message an assignment — check in on your female friends. The world is becoming a scarier and scarier place every day for women, and I think we all need to check…
Summer TBR List
During my break from blogging, I realized I was reading so much more. Part of that was because I was utilizing my library and it’s book hold option a bit more, but another contributing factor was that I didn’t have the limitation of my monthly TBRs — I could easily read whatever was sitting on my shelf without worrying about hitting a specific mark. Therefore, I’m going to switch to seasonal TBRs knowing full well that I may not read everything on my list, but I’ll have a little more wiggle room. Summer is one of my favorite seasons (I grew up in Florida — it’s always summer) because I love reading…
I Took A Day Off…
This weekend did not go as planned. And that’s okay. I took yesterday off. I didn’t do a single thing on my to-do list until 8:30 p.m. And, that’s okay. I have a huge problem with taking time off to do nothing. Even when I wasn’t blogging for two months, I will still working incredibly hard on personal projects and work. Doing nothing for me is such a foreign concept that I have a really hard time accepting that some days it’s exactly what I need. Both Friday and Saturday were very busy days for me. Saturday was an all-day affair with friends at Steeplechase, so I was really relying on having…

What a week! I kept this week pretty low-key focusing on work and getting back into a routine. I had a quick meeting on Monday evening and got some exciting news, played in my last kickball game of the season on Wednesday and enjoyed pizza with friends, and went to a networking event last night. I’m really looking forward to this weekend because I’m going to Steeplechase with a bunch of friends. (Apparently it’s the Kentucky Derby of Nashville? I’m really only going because I’m in this phase of saying “yes” to every opportunity, but nevertheless, I am very excited.) As mentioned, I’m really trying to focus on developing a…
True Crime TBR List
One of my goals of 2019 is to read more true crime books since it’s an area of knowledge that I’m fascinated by. I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts, but I absorb information a lot more from reading or watching documentaries. I finished Helter Skelter a few weeks ago, and I feel like I’m a wealth of knowledge on Charles Manson. It reminded me of how much I love true crime, so I figured I would make a little true crime TBR list for the rest of the here. Let’s get started! 1. I’ll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman’s Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer…
Spring 2019 Playlist
I know Spring is technically almost over, but I still wanted to share the playlist I’ve curated over the last few months. You know the drill by now, but in case you don’t, I like to include new music for the season, music I’ve just discovered, and music I may have listened to during the last few months (musicals I’ve attended, concerts I went to, or particularly memorable music from a night out). Without further ado, here’s my spring 2019 playlist. Happy listening, Kimberly

And she’s back! A full week of posts, and truthfully, it hasn’t been easy. After two months of not writing blog posts, throwing myself back into it has been more difficult than anticipated, but I know this is where I want to be, so here I am. This week flew by. I had a lot going on at work, which always makes the days go by quickly, and I stayed very busy personally. Last weekend was the Rock ‘n Roll Marathon in Nashville. It ran right past my house, so while I was dog sitting, I decided to cheer on some friends as they tackled the half marathon. Since I…
