We did it! This week was full of happy tears as we inaugurated President Biden and Vice President Harris. We have our first female Vice President. This is truly so amazing. This is especially exciting for me because VP Kamala Harris is half-Jamaican, and my parents are Jamaican. It’s a huge step forward in so many ways, and I am so excited to see what this new legislation brings. In more personal news, my boyfriend and I are celebrating our one-year anniversary this weekend. It’s inspiring to see how much we’ve grown independently and as a couple over this last year. I’m excited to unwind together this weekend, go on…

TGIF! I don’t know about you, but this week felt like it was a million years long. I had an overwhelmingly productive beginning to my week, and all of a sudden, I crashed yesterday. I couldn’t focus on any of my tasks, and all I wanted to do was take a nap. Believe it or not, I think all the events of the previous week had finally hit me. Sometimes I can take longer to process upsetting incidents (this has happened before with loved ones’ deaths, family drama, and news items). I’ll be completely fine when it’s happening, and then a week, maybe weeks, later, I’m a mess. It’s definitely…

How’s everyone doing? There’s no denying that this was a tough week. I am once again saddened to my core about the current events in this nation. I can’t put into words what I am feeling, though words should be the one thing I have. I want to give everyone a giant group hug right now. I hope everyone can take a moment this weekend to hug their loved ones a little tighter and decompress from this sad event. Let’s get into what’s been catching my eye this week… one | a breakdown of what happened at the capitol on Wednesday… If you somehow missed the news, here’s what happened…

Happy 2021! How good does that feel to say? I had a very low-key New Year’s Eve cuddled up on the couch at home with my boyfriend watching Star Wars, but I made the amazing charcuterie/snack-plate below that we munched on all night long. I’m looking forward to 2021. I know it’s not going to be all that different from 2020 if we are being honest in terms of the pandemic, but it still feels like an amazing fresh start. I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful holiday and is looking forward to a new year! Let’s get into what’s been catching my eye this week! one | tips…

Happy Friday! I’m taking next week off of blogging to enjoy time at home for the first time in over a year. Earlier this week, I was really stressing out about flying — it’s not a thing I like on a good day much less in the middle of a pandemic — and it made me think about the fact that everyone is just doing their best right now. There is so much shame online right now if you do anything other than stay at home, and I think we as a society need to be a little less judgemental. For the most part, we are all doing our best, so let’s…

Happy Friday! This week was a whirlwind — in the best possible way. I’m looking forward to a quiet weekend since my boyfriend is out of town. I’m going to bake some holiday cookies, take a long bath, and read so many books. Let’s get into what’s been catching my eye this week! one | the best crime and thriller books of 2020… As we all know, I love thrillers. This is my favorite time of year because I get to build my 2021 TBR list based off of all the “best books of 2020” lists. two | these tips on reducing anxiety and stress this holiday season… This holiday…

Happy first week of December! I can’t believe we have almost made it through 2020. The year with seven Marchs is finally, hopefully coming to an end. I’m not going to lie, this week was a weirdly tough one. I had a nagging health issue pop up again, and I had to get that taken care of which always messes up my week, but I am so lucky to have friends that take care of me and a boyfriend who is always willing to bring me dinner and watch crappy TV with me. I’m going into this weekend excited! My boyfriend wasn’t here for my birthday, so he has a…

Happy day after Thanksgiving! I hope everyone had a wonderful day even if it was different than normal. Personally, I Facetimed my family, ordered some Italian food (my favorite meal), watched Schitt’s Creek, read, cuddled with the dogs I’m watching this weekend for a friend, and had a socially-distanced Thanksgiving picnic with my roommate’s family. It wasn’t what I normally would have done, but we all have to do our best in these crazy times. My weekend is looking a little quiet, which is totally perfect for me. The last month has been totally insane, so I’m not complaining about having a quiet weekend alone with the dogs and my…

We made it! The end of another week. How was your week? Mine felt like it flew by but also crawled by if that makes any sense. This weekend is looking like it will be a little slower, which is no problem for me. Life has been hectic, aside from last weekend, and I’m definitely looking forward to the slower days that winter is bringing our way. Sometimes, I think it’s really nice to slow down, take a look at everything around you, think about everything you’ve learned or have to learn, and just breathe it all in. Let’s get started with what’s been catching my eye this week! one…

This week was a pretty quiet week. Aside from stressing out about the election every ten minutes, I didn’t have too much on my plate. I’m going out of town with my boyfriend for the weekend to a cabin in east Tennessee, and I am so excited to get away from everything for just a little bit. I rarely take a weekend off, so it will be nice to have some time just to the two of us. Let’s get into what’s been catching my eye this week! one | this article talking about making a good-day and a bad-day plan… 2020 has tested us all in unexpected ways. I…
