I started bullet journaling last year, and I truly have never looked back. It’s the best thing I ever did for myself. I know it’s not for everyone, but I think my favorite thing about bullet journaling is that you can make it completely your own thing. You can go as big or as little as you want. I always include certain spreads including a goals page as well as a wrap-up/reflection page at the end of the month, but I like how I can switch it up to be whatever I’m needing this month. Here’s what my February bullet journal set up looks like this year. Let’s get started!…

I’m sitting in the airport as I write this update headed to DC for the weekend! I’m mostly excited to see my friend’s cat, but I also can’t wait for amazing food and spending some much needed quality time with a dear friend. I wish I could say I’m excited to spend hours in museums, but all the Smithsonian’s are closed due to this historically long government shut down. If you can, please offer to help out any affected government workers in your community that may be experiencing hardships due to the shutdown. I found this Refinery29 article about donating to furloughed government employees especially helpful. This week was a…
Winter Playlist 2019
We experienced our first snow of the year in Nashville this past Sunday, and it completely put me in the winter mood. While I’m not great when it comes to snow — hello, I’m from Florida — I do really appreciate how beautiful a blanket of snow can make everything look. I think a snow day also forces everyone to slow down for a little bit, especially in the south. While I was feeling the wintery vibes, I decided to compile some songs that capture the season. This winter playlist features a little bit of everything (as do all my playlists), but it’s perfectly mellow with a twist of upbeat…
Top 5 Tips To Stick To Your Resolutions
The new year glow has already started to fade on 2019, but there’s still 11 months to fulfill those New Year’s Resolutions — and yes, I do mean Resolutions with a capital “R.” I may be wrong, but I feel like this is around the time of month that people start giving up on their resolutions, but I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to be that person this year. Stick to your resolutions all the way through 2019 with these five tips. Let’s get started!

And just like that, another week has come and gone. This week was a busy one for me, and it was fully self-imposed. I was feeling really down earlier in the week, and all I wanted to do on Monday night was go home after work, curl up on my couch, and watch The Bachelor by myself. But, instead of shrinking into myself and sitting in my sadness, I decided to go to a friends house to watch the show with a group. I instantly felt better after spending a few hours with friends, and it reminded me that I need to do that more often — surround myself with…
The Martian: A Review
Title: The Martian Author: Andy Weir Genre: Science Fiction Quotation: “Everything went great right up to the explosion.” Rating: 5/5 Stars Who knew so much heart and passion could be conveyed through such scientific thought processes? Andy Weir’s The Martian takes place almost entirely with one character alone on a deserted planet. When Mark Watney and his crew find themselves in the midst of a life-threatening dust storm on day six of their 31 day mission on Mars, they decide to evacuate. Unfortunately, Watney is struck by a satellite that was ripped loose from the storms winds, and the crew is forced to leave without him. To everyone’s dismay, especially Watney’s, he survived being impaled by a…
2019 TBR List
Time to set some reading intentions for 2019! I’ve already started this year off strong by finishing two books in the first 14 days (that’s a big deal for me believe it or not), and I’m hoping to keep the momentum going through the next 11 months. I’ve compiled this list of books that are high on my reading list, but I know I’ll probably add a ton more before the year is up. Keep in mind this list is highly aspirational. I’ve listed 24 books in this post, and it’s not likely I’ll actually read every book on this list, but I’m going to try. Since I’m already listing out so…

Anyone else feel like this week flew by? I thought it would be a rough one since last week was so short with New Year’s Day, but it truly went by in the blink of an eye. I got a ton of “deep work” done at my day job that I’m really happy about, and I’ve been consistent with blogging and posting on social media for A Spoonful of Honi (follow me on Instagram for daily highlights), so I’m feeling like I had a mega productive week, and there’s nothing better than that. I’ve also had such a good time this week with friends. Last Friday, I had some friends…
2019 Goals
Wow, finally, a 2019 post! I know you’ve probably been waiting for this one for a while (and by “a while,” I mean a week and a half). A lot of crazy, personal stuff happened at the end of 2018, and because of that, I’m truly trying to focus on being my best self in 2019. Doing things because I want to do them, whether that means I do it alone or with a friend. Doing things that better me as a person. Doing things that help me get to where I want to be professionally and personally. I am so excited for this year, and I am ready to…
18 Things I Loved in 2018
We are seven days into the new year, but I’m still not over 2018. I feel like I still have so much to say about those 365 days. This is (probably) my last post about 2018, and moving forward I am all about 2019, the new year, new goals, and everything in between. Check back on Wednesday for a look into my goals for the next 12 months. Before officially moving on, I wanted to do a little wrap up of all the products, habits, books, and random things I was loving in 2018, so let’s get started!
