Top 10 Tuesday: Series I Want to Read

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It’s a fun way for bloggers all over the Internet to connect and post the things they love about books. This weeks topic was the top ten series you have yet to finish, but I tend to finish series in a matter of days when they are all printed (with the exception of series that have too many books — I’m looking at you “Pretty Little Liars”.) So, I decided to switch up my topic to reflect the top ten series I want to read. 1. The Infernal Devices — Cassandra Clare I read the first book and…

Top 10 Tuesday: Characters I Just Didn’t Click With

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It’s a fun way for bloggers all over the Internet to connect and post the things they love about books. This week is dedicated to the characters we just didn’t click with from the beginning. 1. Four- Divergent I’m almost really sorry about this one — but I just didn’t like Four that much, especially when we were thrown inside his head. I liked him enough in the first two books, but I didn’t like him enough to see the story from his point of view. I felt the different viewpoints made the reader feel disconnected from…

    Top 10 Tuesday: Auto-Buy Authors

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It’s a fun way for bloggers all over the Internet to connect and post the things they love about books. This weeks designated topic is “auto-buy authors”. This refers to authors whose books you will buy no matter what. Personally, this is just too similar to the previous week for me (I’m not drawn to authors for some reason), so I’m going to list my Top 10 authors I want to read this upcoming school year. 1. Diana Gabaldon I’ve heard so many great things about “Outlander”. I can’t wait to get my hands on it. 2. George R.…

Top 10 Tuesday: Popular Authors on My Bookshelf

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It’s a fun way for bloggers all over the Internet to connect and post the things they love about books. This week is highlighting the authors you’ve read the most books from. I’m not usually a repeat-author offender (I get bored because their plot lines are usually the same), but I’ve read a lot of series, and I’ve made a few exceptions… 1. Sarah Dessen I’ve read Dessen’s books since high school simply because they are easy beach reads that I really connected with, especially when I was younger. They follow my belief that author’s rarely deviate…

    Top 10 Tuesday: Celebrating Diversity

Top 10 Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in 2010. It’s a fun way for bloggers all over the Internet to connect and post the things they love about books. This week’s topic is books that feature diverse characters or diversity. Here we go… 1. Wicked by Gregory Macguire As I posted about in my Little Thoughts about “Wicked”, this book features a green witch. It’s not what you would typically think about when you hear “diversity,” but it’s the first book I’ve read where I completely forgot what the characters looked like and really focused on what they did. 2. It’s Kind of a Funny Story…

    Treasure Tuesday

Happy Tuesday ya’ll! 1. I just finished “Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore” last night, and let me tell you, it was wonderful! I’ll have a “Little Thoughts” post up later this week. 2.  3. Last week my boyfriend went to return some books (some were about the Yankees) to Barnes and Noble. Sadly, it wouldn’t take them because he didn’t have a receipt. But he saw a kid and his mother in line buying a book about the Yankees, so rather than go home with the books he didn’t want, he gave them to the aspiring baseball player. Stories like that make my heart melt. 4. I don’t know about you, but…
