Top 10 Fall Book Releases of 2020

As a nation, we are all embracing fall like we never have before. Bring on the Pumpkin Spice Lattes, autumn-scented candles, cozy blankets, and sunflower decor. We have arrived, and we are thriving. I feel like we all need a change, and since fall is arguably the best season, we are soaking it up for all it is worth. That being said, obviously, my favorite thing about fall is all the amazing new books being released. Let’s get started… one | The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton I recently read and loved The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, so I knew I had to read Stuart Turton’s latest release. Samuel…

Long weekend alert! I am so ready for three days off of work. It’s not that life has been any crazier than normal (some would argue it’s been slower with the pandemic) but it’s still nice to get three days off to do whatever I want to do. I picture this weekend being full of books, learning how to crochet, and cuddling with Maggie. Let’s get into what’s been catching my eye this week… one | this crochet kit… So, I’ve decided to become even more of a grandma and pick up crocheting! I am actually really excited about this new hobby. It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for forever, but…

September Goals & An August Update

Happy September! I’m actually really excited about this new month. My roommate and I decorated for fall this weekend because we are just ready for a change. With COVID, I feel like life has gotten pretty stagnant — I work-out, get ready for the day, read, work, cook dinner, hang out with Boyfriend, watch TV/read, go to bed, and repeat. I love my routine, but I need something different to spice up my day to day. Let’s get into what my September goals are… August 2020 Goal Update one | renew my Google AdWords and Google Analytics certification I didn’t get ANY closer to completing this goal than I was in August. OOPS! I’ve definitely…

I am in a fall state-of-mind. When COVID hit, it was still cold in Nashville, and I am ready to get back to those cozy vibes. Fuzzy socks, pumpkin-flavored treats, and twinkly lights are the only things I want to enjoy over the next two-three months. It’s nowhere near fall weather here yet, but that will not prevent me from making the best of this “season.” My week was strangely long but it also went by so fast? I was struggling with getting stuff done early in the week and then hit the ground running once Wednesday hit. I’m hoping for a quiet, productive weekend to set me up well…

    Best Books from Female Authors

Happy Women’s Equality Day! Today celebrates the adoption of the 19th amendment which gave women the right to vote. Now, it would be remiss if I didn’t mention that not all women were granted the right to vote on this day 100 years ago, but it was a small step in the right direction. Small steps turn into giant leaps eventually (I hope). I wanted to celebrate some of my favorite female authors and authors I hope to read more from. I have so many female authors I love, so I left a little list of honorable mentions at the bottom of this post. Let’s get started… Books I’ve Read one | The Great Believers by…

The Best Books to Satisfy Wanderlust

We all had big plans for 2020. We were going to travel, get in shape, read that book that’s been sitting on our shelf for years. Instead, a lot of us are eating to cope with our emotions, staring out our windows longingly at the outside world, and just praying for 2020 to come to a close. While we may not be able to do a lot of the things we planned on, especially travel, we can still make the best of 2020. Personally, I’ve never worked out more in my life or read as many books. If you’re yearning for a trip around the world, might I recommend these…

Whew! We made it! I don’t know about you, but this week was a crazy one for me. I had COVID-safe plans on Tuesday and Wednesday night this week, so it made it feel like a weekend right in the middle of the week even though I worked every day. It definitely made for a weird feeling week, so I’m ready to knock a lot of productive tasks off the list today in preparation for a fun-filled weekend. Let’s get into what’s been catching my eye this week… one | these really unique bookshelves to spruce up any space… I’ve been on a book-buying spree (oops), and I also plan…

How to Love Yourself When You Don’t Feel Like It

Sometimes, I am not my favorite person in the world. Sometimes, I hate who I am. Sometimes, I can’t stand being in my own mind. And, that’s okay. We all feel this way sometimes. Self-love is hard, but it’s worth practicing because we are the only us in this whole entire world. We are the only person who loves the way we love, who thinks the way we think, and who can change the world in our own unique way. Each and every person on this Earth is different, and if we aren’t going to love ourselves, who will? I’ve been struggling a lot lately with self-love. I’ll admit, it’s a lot…

Warning: There may be spoilers in this review. Evelyn Hardcastle is going to die. She is going to die again and again until Aiden Bishop can figure out who her killer is. Only when he figures out who is behind her untimely death will he be freed from the loop of reliving the day of The Masquerade Ball hosted at Blackheath. But, Aiden is sidetracked when the only person he can remember before his time at Blackheath is Anna. Who is Anna, and…

TGIF! If you don’t follow me on social media, you don’t know this, but I was dog-mom until yesterday! I dog-sit for friends every once-in-a-while, and I absolutely love it, but having two kids is so different from having one — and by kids, I definitely mean animals. Maggie deals with dogs fine, but she definitely prefers to be an only child. We got some good snuggles in over the last few days to make up for her having to share her bed for the last few days. Aside from parenting struggles, this week has been pretty run-of-the-mill. Eat, sleep, work, read, repeat. Let’s get into what’s been catching my…
