Top 5 Favorite Things About Thanksgiving

Honesty time? I’ve never loved Thanksgiving. I chalk it up to having to spent the day in the hospital when I was five; I don’t think I’ve been able to separate that memory from the holiday ever since. But this year, I’m trying to be more open to the holiday — I get to eat endless amounts of food, spend time with my family, and be thankful for everything I have in life. I think the message of Thanksgiving is so important: give thanks. I have so much to be thankful for, and I try to remember that every day, but I try even harder on Thanksgiving. Also, I get…

    Top 5 Nashville Coffee Shops

There are few things in this world I like more than a good coffeeshop. I personally love spending a Sunday morning in a cozy spot working on blog posts and doing the crossword (I promise I’m in my early 20s and not actually 75 despite everything that tells you otherwise). Nashville has a lot to offer in terms of good food, live music, and bar hopping, but it also has a surprising amount of local coffee shops. I haven’t hit every place yet, but I’ve compiled a list of my top five Nashville coffee shops I’ve discovered thus far. Let’s get started.

    Top 10 Guilty Pleasures

We all have habits that we know aren’t good for us, but we can’t help but keep doing them. When I was a kid, it was leaving lights on when I left a room (I’m very adamant about turning lights and electronics off whenever you don’t need them now). As an adult, they’re a little less harmful to my bank account and the environment (I hope). Guilty pleasures aren’t hurting anyone, but it’s also not something you blab about on a first date. I know I’ve got a lot of great habits, but sometimes, I can’t help but indulge in a guilty pleasure or too. Let’s get started!

    Fall Playlist

Typically, I love listening to music I can sing along to. I was not blessed with a beautiful voice, but there’s no better feeling than belting out a tune you know every word to. But I did say typically. In the fall, I seek out a completely different music genre. I love soothing music with mellow beats — something that can play along in the background while I go about my day. There’s no better way to describe my music selection during the fall than as sweater weather vibes in a hipster coffee shop on a rainy Sunday (literally my perfect fall day if I’m going to be honest). I…

Top 6 Office Supplies to Keep in Your Desk at Work

An unfortunate fact of life is that you probably spend more waking hours at work than you do in your own home. On average, Americans work over 9 hours per day, which means, you should probably keep a few creature comforts at your desk. Personally, I keep a lot of random things at my desk like a tube of concealer in case I pick at any pimples that pop up, a blanket because I’m always cold (don’t worry, I get made fun of regularly when I wrap myself in it in the office, but I don’t care because I’m cozy), and a plastic straw for my water bottle to name…

    Fun Fall DIY Crafts

Everyone in Nashville wants it to feel like fall is in the air, but truthfully, it’s still a little bit too hot here to really feel in the fall mood. Regardless of the weather, I’m determined to make the most of this wonderful season, and of course, that starts with making a few crafts for my home. This time last year I was moving to Nashville (Happy 1 year to me!) and starting a new job, so I didn’t really have the time to appreciate the fall breeze. This year, I have my bucket list and my fall crafts to get me in the mood. I made three fall DIY…

    September Favorites

September has been a fantastic month for me full of friendship and new adventures. During the beginning of the month, I took a quick trip to North Carolina to visit a friend in Raleigh and a friend in Charlotte. Then, when I got back to Nashville, one of my best friends came to visit that I hadn’t seen in almost a year. It was so great to see all these old friends before jumping into a new job later in the month. I don’t want to say too much about it, but so far, I am really loving the transition and learning a lot! I haven’t done a favorites post…

    Fall 2018 Bucket List

Arguably, the best season of the year is just around the corner. Personally, as I discussed last week, spring is my favorite season, but fall is a close second. There’s something about these transitional seasons that brings hope and excitement into everyone’s hearts. I’m not a huge PSL girl, but there are few fall traditions that I can’t wait to partake in, so I created a fall bucket list to make sure I cross everything off the list. Let’s get started! 1. Have a farm adventure. One of my favorite memories from my first fall in Nashville was going on a farm adventure with my brother and Tori. We ventured…

How to Stay Motivated (When You Really Don’t Want to do Anything)

I’ve heard will-power is like a muscle — the more it’s used, the more it grows. I think motivation is the same thing. I’m of the firm belief that some people are born with a little more motivation in their system than others, but most people have the drive to achieve their goals. But, no matter how good our intentions are, we all fall into motivational slumps every now and then. Why do you think quote boards are so popular on Pinterest? Personally, I have so much I want to accomplish in the short time I have on Earth, but sometimes, all I want to do is watch another episode…

How To Beat a Bad Mood

Bad moods happen. You can see something online that feels like a knife in the gut. Or get a call that feels like the end of the world. Anything can happen — big or small — to turn your whole day around. Sometimes, for big things, life can be put on pause, but for the most part, life goes on independent of how you’re feeling. You’ve still got to go to class/work. You’ve still got to make dinner. You’ve still got to see your friends. So, when life does throw a curveball, it’s important to know how to get past it. I’ve got five tips on how you can beat…
