    15 Spooky Season Book Recommendations

Spooky season is in full swing at my house! My roommate and I have already started watching Halloween-themed movies (check out Wednesday’s post for my recommendations/to-watch list), and we carved pumpkins this weekend. Even though the pandemic is still very much a part of our lives, I’m really glad this season is upon us, and we can still do fun things while staying safe. As we all know, my favorite thing to do in any season is read. So here are my spooky season book recommendations that I have already read and loved. Let’s get started! one | A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab Follow me to a…

Happy Friday! This week was all about implementing little things to make each day feel like the best day. I started having five-minute dance parties after lunch. I treat myself to coffee two to three times a week. I watch the sunrise or set from my bedroom window. Just little things to make every day a little bit special. Do you have any practices like that? I’d love to know what they are. Let’s get into what’s been catching my eye this week! one | this breakdown on misconceptions about the enneagram… If you didn’t know, I love the enneagram. October Goals & A September Update

How lucky I am to live in a world with Octobers? October is one of my favorite months. It’s the start of the holiday season, but it’s a bit slower of a month since Halloween doesn’t typically require travel. Like most humans, I love sweater-season and can’t keep salted-caramel flavors out of my mouth. I love pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and everything else that comes with the season. Let’s get started with my September update and October goals! September 2020 Goal Update one | track my eating habits I’ll be honest, I sort of did this. I eat so similarly every day, that I feel like I can log certain…

    Books I Read in September

Happy October! September was quite the month, and it was definitely an eventful month when it came to reading. I read nine books ranging from a non-fiction memoir, an educational marketing book, two books that were the last in their series, an antiracist read, and more. Let’s get started on the books I read in September! one | Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb — E-Book Therapists are people too. They have opinions, they struggle with normal problems like breakups and feeling the impending doom of their own death, they curse — basically, they are just like us. This is Lori Gottlieb’s main message in her book Maybe You…

TGIF. This has been one heck of a week, let me tell you. Between the pandemic and the election, I feel like I just can’t catch a break this year. I’m trying to remind myself to just take one step and then another, but sometimes that’s harder than you think. Anyways, nothing is really “new” with me per say, so let’s get into what’s been catching my eye this week. one | this work hack to keep your day running smoothly… I am looking for anything and everything that will help me cope with my workday. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still loving working from home, I’m just in need…

Top TV Shows to Watch Based on Books

I promise this post isn’t sponsored by Netflix. I don’t watch a ton of TV because most of my free time is spent reading, but when I do, I’m a big binge-watcher. During quarantine, my boyfriend and I have been watching shows together, switching off who gets to pick what we are watching next, and it got me thinking about all of the amazing TV shows based on books. There are so many out there, but these are the ones I’ve personally watched. Let’s get started! one | Gossip Girl Gossip Girl is such a classic television series, and it’s the perfect time to binge the series. The television series is…

    Catching My Eye | 09.25.20

What a week! My mood went from the lowest-of-low to the highest-of-high over the last 14-ish days. I don’t know what’s in the water (probably a pandemic), but I am truly feeling better than ever. I know this is probably going to be short-lived because life is just a series of ups-and-downs, but I’m trying to enjoy it while I can. Something I think that’s really helped this mood is doing a quick 15-minute clean-up routine at the end of the night. I’ve started cleaning the kitchen (washing the dishes and wiping down the counters) and tidying my room (putting away clothes and shoes, for the most part) right before…

    Catching My Eye | 09.10.20

No, no, no, you haven’t lost your mind. It’s Thursday. But tomorrow is 9/11, and that day is best spent remembering the lives we tragically lost 19 years ago — not reading about the fun things I’ve found on the internet in the last seven days. This week has been a weird one. I was in such a mood on Monday & Tuesday for no real reason, but then, I seemed back to “normal” on Wednesday. I’m going to chalk it up to Pandemic Burnout, which needs to be a real term if it isn’t already. Anyways, I’m excited for a quiet weekend spent reading and getting ice cream with…

    My Favorite Amazon Purchases

Truth be told, I’m not the biggest Amazon shopper in the world. I love the ease of Amazon, but usually, I try to buy locally or in-person at somewhere like Target to avoid the environmental hazards of shipping purchases. But, if you love Amazon, good for you! You can find all of my favorite purchases on Amazon at the links below, but I’ll let you know if I actually got it somewhere else if you’re interested in picking it up in person. From fashion to cat toys, Amazon’s got it all! Let’s get started! one | charcoal detox bags My brother’s fiancé told me about these when I was over…

    Books I Read in August

Back to my normal reading numbers! I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed by the low number of books I read this month, but five books is such a realistic number to read (for me). I also almost finished one book (which will be in my September wrap up) and got half-way through a 900-page book, so I’m trying not to get too down on myself. Real talk — It can be hard being a blogger/bookstagramer who sees people reading 30 books a month when I can, usually, barely get through five. When I’m feeling down about my numbers, I try to remind myself that five is better…
